Fiorentina Plan to Retain Arsenal and Real Madrid Loanees

Fiorentina are pleased with the performances of their two loanees, Alvaro Odriozola and Lucas Torreira, and would like to keep them past this season. On the other hand, they will have to negotiate with Real Madrid for the former. Arsenal have a bone to pick with them that could obstruct the talks for the latter.

According to Mundo Deportivo, the Viola will soon open the negotiation with Real Madrid. The Spanish fullback joined on a straight loan. The Galacticos want around €20M to part ways with Odriozola permanently. It remains to be seen whether the Gigliati will be willing to reach such sum. They will try to reduce the requests by proposing a lower fee and some add-ons.

The 26-year-old has appeared in 20 matches thus far, tallying 1 goal and 1 assist. He has been particularly effective after the winter break. On top of Odriozola, Fiorentina wish to retain Torreira too. In this case, they have a €15M option to buy. He has scored twice in 21 appearances, but he subbed off in the most recent game due to an injury.

His agent Pablo Bentancur weighed in to radio Sport 890: “Fiorentina obviously want to redeem him, as he is playing very well. He has resumed being consistent, dynamic and impressive. However, Arsenal are a little angry with them. They wanted to sign Dusan Vlahovic, and the Viola agreed, but his entourage steered him towards Juventus, and they prevailed. Lucas is happy in Florence, and I think he will stay. He is one of the most beloved players.”
