The race to sign 2022 FIFA World Cup breakout star Sofyan Amrabat is on, as Fiorentina prepare for life after the Moroccan midfield ace departs this summer. With just one year remaining on his Viola deal, teams are cramming up to seal the deal for the 26-year-old.
Several top teams from Europe’s top-five leagues are now locked head-to-head to secure Amrabat’s signature, with the most high-profile names emerging from the Premier League and La Liga. Liverpool and Atletico Madrid are reportedly are ready to shell the asking price of €30M for Amrabat, with the former more likely to beat the latter due to financial freedom.

Newcastle United, Bayern Munich and Barcelona are also in the running, but Amrabat is not expected to be their primary target. The Magpies have other targets in their radar, whereas the Blaugrana missed the chance to sign him in the winter transfer window. Bayern reportedly have been offered his services, but remain disinterested.
What’s certain is that Amrabat prefers a move to Spain, which could draw up a waiting game to see which club strikes a deal first. According to Tuttomercatoweb, the Firenze outift have identified two central midfielders as potential contenders to replace Amrabat: Sassuolo’s Maxime Lopez and Spezia’s Salvatore Esposito. However, nothing concrete has emerged yet.
Amrabat has 107 appearances registered to his name at Fiorentina, having signed for the club after an impressive loan spell at Hellas Verona in 2019/20.
