Hearts vs Fiorentina 0-3: Viola Finally Win in Conference League

Fiorentina return to winning ways in the Europa Conference League, topping Hearts 3-0 in Scotland. Having failed to win their opening two games, La Viola knew three points were a requirement in order to have a chance at progression.

The first goal came early, as Rolando Mandragora got his head on a cross to put the visitors in front. Christian Kouamé doubled their advantage minutes before halftime. The ball was popped up to the Ivorian, who hit a stunning bicycle kick to put his team in a commanding position.

Lewis Neilson was sent off for Hearts just moments into the second period after pulling down Luka Jovic. While the Scottish side tried to get back into the game, they were always second best in the contest. Jovic found the net with 11 minutes to play, completing an excellent performance from Fiorentina.

Vincenzo Italiano’s men are now second in the group after RFS and Basaksehir finished 0-0 in the other game. With four points, Fiorentina are a point ahead of Hearts for second spot. The two teams reconvene next week in Florence, with another Viola win likely enough to see them into the next round.
