Fiorentina Ready to Send Two Players to Sampdoria for Sabiri

Sampdoria midfielder Abdelhamid Sabiri has been linked to a move away from the club, with Fiorentina reportedly interested in bringing him to Stadio Artemio Franchi come the winter transfer window.

Tuttosport (via Viola News) have confirmed the Viola’s interest in the Moroccan international, who made his World Cup debut as a substitute in the stalemate against Croatia in the Group F opener. It is reported that Fiorentina are evaluating to send two players the other way to Genoa in order to materialize the deal for Sabiri – namely Youssef Maleh and Symon Zurkowski, with both players certainly not in the club’s plans going ahead.

Sabiri is one of the first names on the team sheet for the Blucerchiati, capable of functioning in various midfield roles, from a typical playmaker behind striker to playing on the left or in the center of the field.

The 25-year-old has a contract expiring in the summer of 2025. He has a transfermarkt value of €3M, but could go for as much as €15M as per Sampdoria’s valuation, according to Tuttomercatoweb.

Sabiri has previously starred for Huddersfield Town and FC Nurnberg, having started out his early playing days in Germany, graduating from the youth ranks of Koblenz and Darmstadt. He rose to prominence with Ascoli in Serie B, scoring 11 goals in 43 appearances, before moving to Sampdoria on loan in 2021/22.
