Fiorentina Rivaling Torino for Leicester City Outcast

Fiorentina continue to duel with Torino, as they have set their sights on Dennis Praet. The midfield played on loan to the Granata last season. They did not pick up their option to buy hoping to renegotiate the terms of the transfer. They have not been able to do that thus far, though.

As per Sky, the Viola could be willing to do the deal on a permanent basis for €7M right away. Instead, if the demands by Leicester City were higher, they would propose an initial loan with a clause to purchase him next summer. The 28-year-old logged 23 appearances in 2021/2022, recording 2 goals and 2 assists. He missed multiple months due to a foot injury.

On top of Praet, Fiorentina are also in talks for another former Torino loanee, Rolando Mandragora, whose card belongs to Juventus. The intentions of the two players remain to be seen. The Belgian international suggested he wanted to go back to the Granata following some rumors of a Sampdoria return. The 25-year-old Italian is also reportedly pushing for a reunion.

The Gigliati continue to pursue Dodo, who appears to be inching closer to joining. They are discussing also another Shaktar Donetsk’s Brazilian defender, Marlon, who is on Monza’s radar too, the publication informs. They are doing their due diligence in case they lost Nikola Milenkovic.

Our Take on Fiorentina Targeting Praet

They have been linked to a host of talented midfielders in the early portion of the window, and any of them would raise the quality of their squad. The numbers of the Belgian do not necessarily jump off the screen, but he was vital in linking up the lines of Ivan Juric’s squad in the recent campaign. He would be a younger, sprier version of Giacomo Bonaventura.
