Fiorentina Set to Retain Star Striker Until June 2022

Dusan Vlahovic is arguably Serie A’s most in-demand attacking prospect at the moment, credit to his goalscoring exploits in Viola colours. He has scored 17 goals and provided 2 assists in 18 appearances for the Florence natives so far this season.

He is currently Italy’s leading Capocannoniere with 15 goals from 17 games. He also has two assists to his name. His exploits have provided Fiorentina with huge respite as they seek a European spot for the first time since the 2015/16 season.

La Gazzetta dello Sport have now reported of Rocco Commisso’s intention of retaining the services of the 21-year-old Serbian marksman until June 2022, with his contract in Florence expiring a year later in 2023.

Vlahovic has long been touted to move away from the club, given his stature of one of world football’s most promising youngsters.

Atletico Madrid, Manchester City, Tottenham Hotspur, Arsenal, Juventus and several other heavyweights are reportedly keen for his services upfront, but it seems like any contender would have to wait until the end of the 2021/22 season to make a move for Vlahovic.

The report also mentions that Fiorentina would not be considering any offers come January, except for ‘sensational offers’ in the range of €100m.

Vlahovic has a transfermarkt value of €50m but it has long been known that Fiorentina will not entertain any offers less than the €70-80m mark.
