Fiorentina Show Interest in Milan Youngster and Tottenham Outcast

Vincenzo Italiano has instructed Fiorentina to try signing Tommaso Pobega from Milan. The youngster had a strong first Serie A season under the former Spezia coach, bagging 6 goals in 20 appearances. The Viola are also eyeing Erik Lamela to replenish their attack after the departure of Franck Ribery.

Pobega could indeed leave Milan, but only for a good offer, Calciomercato.com reports. The Rossoneri are listening to the bids for him and Jens-Petter Hauge and could let them go for €15M. Atalanta are pursuing the Italian midfielder as well, but they are after few players for the role. Fiorentina could be successful if they moved quickly, but the details of their attempt have yet to emerge.

The Viola have added Nicolas Gonzalez to their front-line, but they need more wingers to pull off the new coach’s scheme properly. Lamela has only a year left on his deal with Tottenham, and they could get rid of him early to save on his salary, Sportitalia informs. The 28-year-old Argentinian forward has played sparingly over the last few seasons. He made just 5 Premier starts in the past campaign, appearing for a total of 23 matches and 704 minutes.

Lamela has fallen out of favor London after a €30M move from Roma in 2013. He previously spent two years in Serie A, scoring 21 goals and providing 13 assists in 67 games. Fiorentina have limited options for the role, and are likely to retain Riccardo Sottil and José Callejon. Italiano will also evaluate Christian Kouamé and Aleksandr Kokorin in the pre-season, as they could adapt to the position.
