Fiorentina Rubbish Isco Links During Piatek Presentation

Real Madrid midfield ace Isco has been cast off under Carlo Ancelotti this season. The 29-year-old has sparsely appeared for Los Blancos this season, capping just 10 times across all competitions.

With his contract at the Santiago Bernabeu expiring at the end of the season, Isco is one of the many players who will become a free agent in June 2022 – turning heads across Europe. One of the teams being linked with a move for the ex-Malaga sensation is Fiorentina.

La Viola have been linked with Isco umpteen number of times, although nothing official has materialized between either Fiorentina, Real Madrid or the player himself. Now, Fiorentina sporting director Daniele Prade has come forward with a straightforward statement and closed the links once and for all.

On the day of the presentation of new Viola signing Krzysztof Piatek, Prade has revealed that there has been no contact whatsoever between the Florence giants and the Spanish player’s representatives.

“We heard a lot of rumours about Isco, but we don’t even know who his agents are. He’s a very talented player, but we are not interested in him,” commented Prade (via Calciomercato).

Fiorentina acquired Piatek from Hertha Berlin as the second signing of the winter window, after securing the services of Jonathan Ikone from Lille.

Speaking of which, Prade said: “We did well to complete the squad with two players we needed and get it done early, All we need to do now from here to January 31 is try to make happy those players who want more playing time.

“This opportunity arrived to get Piatek from before Christmas, he was in Italy anyway and we had the chance to talk. We are happy, as he had other options, but he chose us.”

Fiorentina sit 7th in the Serie A standings – level on 32 points, but sandwiched between capital giants Roma and Lazio.
