Fiorentina Starlet Quashes Exit Rumors Despite Having Plenty of Suitors

Dusan Vlahovic plans to sign an extension with Fiorentina, and, in any case, he will stay this summer. The player was filmed while signing autographs yesterday. When a fan asked him about the new contract, he replied: “I will sign it when they offer it to me.”

The negotiation between the two parties has been rocky up until this point. The release clause represents a point of contention, Corriere Fiorentino reports. Fiorentina wants to set a conspicuous sum, around €70/80M, while the player’s entourage asked for a lower one. Director Joe Barone quipped during a recent presser: “It takes two to tango.”

Vlahovic is tied to the club until 2023, which gives the management room to maneuver in the talks. Several clubs approached Fiorentina to inquire about the price tag of the striker. The Viola rebuffed them by requesting €60M.

The starlet was on Tottenham’s radar as a possible replacement for Harry Kane. Juventus was considering a move in case they lost Cristiano Ronaldo this summer. Milan and Roma were after him before his value ballooned in the second half of last season.

Vlahovic bagged 21 goals in the past campaign, thriving in particular from March on. Fiorentina have been unsuccessfully trying to agree on a new deal for a few months. The Serbian forward is in line for a massive pay raise as he is currently making only €800k per year. Despite that and the difficulties in the negotiation, he has manifested no intention to move in this window.
