Fiorentina Strike Ikone Deal to Secure First Winter Transfer

Fiorentina have acquired their first signing of the winter transfer window, with the onboarding of Jonathan Ikone from French champions LOSC Lille.

After advanced negotiations in the beginning of December all but sealed the French international’s deal, Italian pundit Fabrizio Romano has revealed that the transfer has been confirmed, and that only paperwork is the only thing yet to be signed.

Ikone has long been a mainstay of Lille’s attacking setup – going on to etch himself as a starter ever since his move to the northerners in July 2018 from Paris Saint-Germain.

He has 146 appearances for Les Dogues, wherein he has scored 16 goals in three and a half seasons.

A part of the transfer details has been disclosed by the Sky Sport Italia expert. Ikone will reportedly be moving on a €15m transfer deal, with La Viola subject to an extra 10% cut of any future sale.

The five-year contract is yet to be officially signed by the 23-year-old right winger, who can also function in various other roles such as a support striker or attacking midfielder, boosting Fiorentina’s attacking prowess in a bid to make it to Europe next season.

He has already made 25 appearances for Lille this season, scoring two goals and assisting as many.
