Tottenham have identified Dusan Vlahovic as a possible heir to Harry Kane. The money coming in from the sale to Manchester City could be partially re-invested in the Fiorentina starlet. However, Viola currently consider him untouchable, La Gazzetta dello Sport reports.
The Spurs captain has manifested his intention to leave. His club will not give in easily, though, and have turned down every bid thus far. The Daily Star indicated that the latest offer reached €117M, while Tottenham have put a massive €175M price tag on their ace. The gap is too significant at this stage. Kane is under contract until 2024, which gives his side plenty of leverage. The Citizens are considering delaying their chase to 2022, ESPN informed.
However, the transfer market window has just begun, and things could change down the line. Vlahovic would be an ideal replacement given what he accomplished in his break-out campaign. He bagged 21 goals in 37 appearances last season. The 21-year-old attacker, signed for cheap from Partizan in 2018, also has 7 caps with Serbia.
Fiorentina have been unsuccessfully trying to agree to an extension for months. The Serbian forward has two years left on his deal, so they do not necessarily need to sell him in this window. Tottenham will monitor the Serie A market closely with former Juventus director Fabio Paratici now leading the technical area. While the Viola have not put their starlet up for sale, a €60M evaluation floated around when Juventus and other teams inevitably showed interest. He would be in high demand if his club opened the door to a transfer.
