Fiorentina Tipped to Purchase a Right-Back in January

Fiorentina might turn to the market in January to address their hole at right-back as Dodo suffered an ACL tear. Michael Kayode has been excellent in relief, earning a sizeable pay bump, but he’s their only option. They have been in trouble in the recent games since he’s been out with an ankle injury, La Gazzetta dello Sport relays.

Left-footed Fabiano Parisi has adapted to the position with mixed results. He has been okay in some stretches, but he’s been noticeably uncomfortable defensively in others. He botched a read early in the Juventus game, leading to the lone goal.

Fiorentina have another young option in the role, Niccolò Pierozzi, but he has been unavailable in most matches. He was supposed to move to Spezia last summer, but the deal fell through due to his physical problems. He played at Reggina and Pro Patria in previous seasons.

Vincenzo Italiano could adapt a center-back until Kayode returns. They stood pat at the position in the summer because they trusted the youngster.

Fiorentina were linked to Emil Holm, but Atalanta won the race. While he’s not playing much, they’d have to negotiate with them and Spezia to get him. He joined on loan with an option to buy. They had also touched base with Lecce for Valentin Gendrey and Manchester United for Diogo Dalot. The last one is basically impossible to sign now.
