Five Free Agents That Juventus Could Sign This Summer

Juventus won the Serie A title in the end, but it wasn’t without its challenges.

Maurizio Sarri’s side were pushed to the very end by Inter who only finished a point behind the Old Lady. Both Atalanta and Lazio were only five points behind in the end and it’ll leave Sarri somewhat unsettled going into next season.

He’ll no doubt have to bolster his squad with depth and class to ensure he can win the Scudetto once again, and do so comfortably. Here we take a look at five free agents that Juve could sign this summer:

Jan Vertonghen

The Tottenham man is said to be closing in on a move to Roma, but Sarri could yet pip them to the post and bring in the free agent.

He’s a versatile defender who can fill in at center-back and at left-back – somewhere Sarri could do with some extra numbers.

If Juve got into a battle with Roma for the signing then it’s likely that Juve could outbid Roma in terms of wages.

Malang Sarr

The 21-year-old has recently left French club Nice. He made 19 Ligue 1 appearances last season having struggled with injury but now, he’s one of the most in-demand free agents on the market.

Arsenal were said to be close to agreeing a deal but for Sarr seemingly pulling out. There’s said to be a number of German and Italian sides after him, but no teams have yet been named.

Juventus could well be one of those in the running but if not, Sarr could become a real asset to the Bianconeri given the time to play alongside the likes of Giorgio Chiellini and Matthijs de Ligt.

David Silva

Juve will be slightly concerned about the teams around them bolstering before they do this summer, and Lazio’s reported signing of Manchester City’s David Silva could have Sarri slightly concerned.

They’d kept the heat on Juve throughout the season, only to fall short in the title race towards the end. But their addition of Silva could yet fix that issue, and it could yet prompt action from Juventus.

A player like SIlva would be a great addition to Juve’s side, and signing him would prevent him from going to anyone else – it could be an expensive asset for either club though.

Angel Gomes

Manchester United were reluctant to let youngster Angel Gomes leave for free this summer. He’s a talented and versatile player but he’s since opted for a move into the free market.

He has a few options – Lille look interested in signing him and loaning him straight out, but Juve could yet beat the French side to the deal, and develop him in their own ranks.

Training alongside the likes of Cristiano Ronaldo and co would be the best experience for Gomes, who’s shown the potential he has. Again though, Juve would have to move fast to sign this youngster.

Ryan Fraser

Perhaps a wildcard suggestion, but Ryan Fraser is a player who’s been strongly linked with Liverpool throughout the season, and now is available for free.

The Scot left Bournemouth before the restart and given the extensive scouting Liverpool do into their players, it will mean that Fraser is a class player both on and off the ball.

Juventus could do with some more wide options, and Fraser is a versatile one too being able to fill in at left-back – Sarri might not have even looked at Fraser, but this could be a useful signing.
