Flamengo Find Inter Veteran Vidal “Expensive” to Manage

It was reported earlier by Chilean media Tercera that Brazilian giants Flamengo are set to offer 34-year-old defensive veteran Arturo Vidal a whopping €4.7m net per season. However, it has emerged that the South American outfit find the former Juventus and Barcelona midfielder’s wages demands a tad bit too much to afford.

According to Portuguese outlet Guia do Boleiro (via FCinterNews), they can no longer afford to hand Vidal the same salary as reported earlier. Negotiations were at a smooth pace until now, as Flamengo consider an alternative to signing the Inter defensive half.

Flamengo had offered a two-year deal with an option to extend for an additional season, but it is understood that they do not want to proceed further, mainly due to financial implications.

Qatari outfit Al-Rayyan have also made an unknown proposal and his boyhood club Colo-Colo, in the Chilean Primera Division, remain an option for him to end his career with.

Vidal is set to leave Inter after two seasons with the club, having won the Serie A title in 2020/21. He has 69 appearances for the Nerazzurri so far.
