Flamengo Interested in Signing Juventus Injured Starlet

Kaio Jorge spent the early portion of the season on the shelf recovering from a patellar tendon tear in late February. He’s in the later stages of the rehab. He should be able to return once Serie A resumes in January. However, it’s uncertain whether he’ll be back on the pitch with Juventus.

According to Calciomercato, multiple Brazilian clubs asked for him. Flamengo are currently the frontrunners, but a few other sides reached out to his agent Giuliano Bertolucci. The reigning Copa Libertadores winners could offer a two-year loan spell with option to buy.

Juventus have yet to make the call on the future of Kaio Jorge. They signed him for cheap since he was nearing the end of his contract with Santos at the time. They paid a €3M fee, so profiting on him wouldn’t be challenging. However, he has played too little for them to properly assess his potential.

The 20-year-old has featured in nine matches with the Bianconeri. His lone goal in Italy thus far arrived while starring for the U-23 side versus Albinoleffe, as he was ramping up following an early muscular injury.

Our Take on Kaio Jorge

Coach Massimiliano Allegri has already broken in many youngsters for his standards. With Dusan Vlahovic, Federico Chiesa, and Angel Di Maria possibly in better shape in the second half of the season, plus Arkadiusz Milik and Moise Kean offering okay performances, there wouldn’t be many minutes for him, especially considering the predictable struggles after a major injury. A loan spell is likely in order, but it would be better for his development if it were in Serie A or B. That would also signal whether the brass still believes in him or not.
