Real Madrid are not working to bring back Cristiano Ronaldo, president Florentino Perez announced during the show Chiringuito TV. The executive went into details about the new Super League, which he will helm, and touched on some transfer market topics.
“Cristiano will not return at Real Madrid. We have made our choice, I can guarantee that. I love Ronaldo, but it would not make much sense, that is the reason why. He has another year left on his contract with Juventus,” Perez said.
Over the weekend, transfer market expert Gianluca Di Marzio had reported the same thing during the Twitch show PixelDust TV: “The Galacticos have no intention of acquiring Ronaldo. His agent Jorge Mendes masterfully leaked that rumor, but there is no interest on their part. They want Kylian Mbappé and Erling Haaland instead. I am very skeptical they will be able to buy them both this summer, though.”
Perez indirectly confirmed that the Merengues are after the French starlet in his recent interview. If they were successful in their chase, it could open up a new scenario for Ronaldo, Di Marzio informed: “Should Mbappé leave, PSG would be the only team that could sign CR7. Otherwise, he will stay at Juventus to complete his contract as I do not see any other real contenders.” The Bianconeri and the star striker are set to have a sit-down later in the season to discuss his future.
After missing the Atalanta game due to a minor thigh injury, the Portuguese ace is widely expected to return to the starting XI in the midweek bout against Parma.
