Former Arsenal Midfielder Training with Serie B Side Como

Jack Wilshere is currently without a team after six months with Bournemouth. He is practicing with Como, although he can not play for them. Serie B team can not sign extra-EU players. Former Chelsea player Dennis Wise is the CEO of the Lariani.

Wilshere was interviewed by La Gazzetta dello Sport: “My time in England was over as I have a bad rap there. Now I want a new challenge. I am trying to find somebody that gives me another chance to prove my worth. I would be glad to join an Italian team. My time here in Como has been positive, and I think I would settle in quickly in Serie A. Here they work hard on tactics, and every player has good technique. We do not have that in the Premier League, but games are a lot more intense.”

“There are not many English players in Italy, as they usually stay put. They are close to their family, and the league is better. Tammy Abraham took this step, and I have seen him grow. He will do well at Roma. As far as I am concerned, it is time to try something different, maybe in Italy or Spain. I am still tight with Aaron Ramsey and Wojciech Szczesny.”

Looking back, I regret leaving Arsenal. It was my choice, but it was too soon. I should have stayed. But I am only 29; there is a lot more I can do. I want to exit my comfort zone and go back to my previous levels. Injuries were not the only issue, that would be an excuse. Certainly, the major ones had terrible timing. I had a rough moment, also mentally, before coming to Como. This move was healthy, and I am ready to play for a new team now.”
