Former Goalkeeper Already Collaborating with Inter

Samir Handanovic is already working for Inter, even though he and the club have yet to make it official. The goalkeeper has implied he’s retired but hasn’t formally announced yet. He departed at the natural conclusion of his contract last June. He attended a meeting with the representatives of the ultras a couple of weeks ago.

According to La Gazzetta dello Sport, the former goalkeeper is a staple at the Youth League games. He has been spotted in the stands of Tuesday’s match between the Nerazzurri and Benfica.

Handanovic will soon enroll in the coaching course but will be utilized as a scout by Inter in the meantime. The execs will use his expertise to evaluate young shot-stoppers and watch matches where some potential future targets star.

While he was initially rumored for a position in Simone Inzaghi’s staff, he’ll work shoulder-to-shoulder with Giuseppe Marotta, Piero Ausilio, and especially Dario Baccin, the deputy sporting director, instead.

Handanovic was easily recognized by the Inter supporters at the fixture. He’s in good shape after trying to latch onto a team as a free agent during the summer. He aims to become a coach, perhaps starting from the Nerazzurri’s youth sector, but he’ll stay busy with other mansions while he studies to get the license.

La Beneamata’s U-19 team is currently helmed by ex-defender Christian Chivu, who contributed to winning the title two years ago.
