Arkadiusz Milik is enjoying his time at Olympique Marseille, but his stay in Ligue 1 might be short given a €12M release clause in his contract. The striker was asked about a possible move to Juventus in an interview with L’Equipe: “Sure, I have some dreams and I want to play in the best teams in the world, this is my goal. The way to accomplish it is to give my best every day to improve myself. I am focused on my current team, but I often ask myself what I can do to fulfill my ambition in a couple or years, or maybe months.”
The Polish striker was insistently pursed by the Bianconeri in September and then a move to Roma fell through that 11th hour. He commented on his departure from Napoli: “It was a weird situation as they told me last summer that I had to either extend my contract or leave. I wanted to depart, but the pandemic got in the way.”
“Marseille proved that they wanted me the most in January and I thought it could be the right opportunity. I could have picked a bigger club if I waited until the summer of 2021, but it would have been too long. I was frustrated because other players in similar situations still got minutes, while I was marginalized.”
Gazzetta dello Sport confirmed that Milik is the top target to add depth to the Juventus’ front-line for the 2021/2022 season, if Cristiano Ronaldo stayed and played out the final year of his deal. He has scored 4 times in 7 matches in France.
