Four Inter Players That Antonio Conte Needs To Sell

Inter had a fine debut season under Antonio Conte. The ex-Chelsea boss guided them to within a point of eventual champions Juventus, whilst also reaching – but losing in – the Europa League Final.

Next season is bound to be more prosperous with Conte now settling in with his Inter side, but he has plenty of work to do in this amended pre-season.

He’ll no doubt be looking to recruit in time for next month, but he has some names that he’ll have to offload as well. So here we look at four players that Conte should look to sell in this transfer market session.

Milan Skriniar

It seems as though the Slovakian is at the heart of all Inter transfers this summer. The 25-year-old made 32 Serie A appearances for Inter last season, but he’s been mentioned as part of several swap deals for the Nerazzurri.

One of those deals involves Manchester United’s Anthony Martial – Conte is keen on bringing yet another United man to Italy, and Skriniar could play a pivotal role in making that move happen given his reputation and potential value.

He’s also been tipped with a move to Tottenham Hotspur, with outcast Tanguy Ndombele potentially heading the other way.

Milan Skriniar used to be a key player in Inter’s lineup, but since the arrival of Antonio Conte he seems to have fallen much behind in the ranks

Kwadwo Asamoah

The ex-Juventus man had a torrid season last time around. He made just eight Serie A appearances as he spent much of the season on the sidelines, or on the bench.

Now aged 31, Asamoah has quickly become a burden on the Inter wage bill. Conte would do well to offload the Ghana man this month, and with a year left on his contract, the sale would make a lot of sense for both him and Inter.

Asamoah has indeed been urged to leave the club this summer by fellow countryman Laryea Kingston.

Kwadwo Asamoah has been mostly a backup player since joining Inter. Parting ways may just be the best solution for both sides

Christian Eriksen

Just half-a-year after his long-awaited move from Tottenham Hotspur, Eriksen looks like he could already be on the move again.

It seemed like his spark was long gone before his Inter arrival, and with just one goal in 17 Serie A appearances, and much of his time being spent on the bench towards the end of the season, that spark now looks all-but gone.

Inter invested nearly 30M euros in the Dane and would expect at 50 in return, so this move could frustrate both parties, and it could see Eriksen become surplus to requirements at the club.

Christian Eriksen was surely hoping for a different kind of experience at Inter, but things have not gone as expected so far…

Andrea Ranocchia

The long-standing Inter man has made over 200 appearances for the club. He joined way back during the 2010-11 season and became a first-team regular. But after several loan spells outside of the club, he’s now very much a back-up player.

He’s made just 22 Serie A appearances in the past three seasons for Inter, with 7 coming in the last under Conte.

The Inter defense is an area where Conte has plenty of numbers, and this is another departure that he’d do well to manufacture and take some strain off his ever-growing wage bill.

Andrea Ranocchia’s departure may be a painful one as the defender spent most of his playing career at Inter. Still, his time with the Nerazzurri appears to be over…
