Franck Ribery Involved in Car Accident, Will Not Play Against Inter

Franck Ribery was involved in a car accident in the night between Sunday and Monday. The Salernitana player luckily only suffered a light head trauma.

The Granata released a statement on the 28th of February on their official website: “Following a car incident the player Franck Ribery, who was not driving at that moment, suffered a light head trauma. The player will rest as a precaution for a few days.”

Sports Director Walter Sabatini spent a few words about the unfortunate event and the consequences for the player: “He has already apologized and he will also explain himself to the coach but now the story has to be resized. The player will receive a fine because he violated the rules but now we also want to understand if there were other players with him. If this were to be the case, they will be fined too.”

After the appointment of new coach Davide Nicola, a specialist in winning relegation battles, Salernitana are hopeful on staying in Serie A. They have tied their last four games, which really helped their cause. Their next game is against Inter tomorrow and the absence of Ribery is not good news for the Granata.
