Frustrated Bonucci Scuffles with Inter Staff in Supercoppa Loss

As Alexis Sanchez knocked in the winner from the last kick of the match in the 120th minute and stunned Juventus, an incident unfolded on the touchline as Leonardo Bonucci was slated to come on as a substitute in the final minutes of extra time.

There are reports that Juventus players were distracted by Bonucci’s impending arrival – that the Bianconeri bench wanted the players to give away a free kick so that the Italy stopper could come on for the imminent penalty shoot-out that was entirely canceled out by Sanchez’s killer goal.

According to Sport Mediaset (via Football-Italia), Juventus staff were instructing their players to ‘foul someone’ and give away a free kick in the final minute of the match. However, little did they know that Alex Sandro would commit a defensive error and hand ex-Arsenal man Sanchez a tap-in at the death.

Bonucci was seen clashing with a member of the Inter staff just as the winner was scored. Cristiano Mozzillo was seen being shoved by the center-back near the benches, as his wait to enter the pitch ended with referee Daniele Doveri’s final whistle.

Sanchez’s goal prompted the Inter bench to erupt with joy, seeing which unimpressed Bonucci appeared to have taken his frustration out on the Nerazzurri secretary, apparently even threatening him in the process.

Inter secured their sixth Supercoppa Italiana title with the Derby d’Italia victory at Giuseppe Meazza.
