Fulham Sign Torino’s Lukic in Deadline Day Transfer

Fulham have secured the signing of Torino midfielder Sasa Lukic on a permanent deal. Lukic was the subject of transfer rumors since last summer, and has finally left the northern Italian city to fly to London.

The Serbian joins the Londoners in a transfer move worth €10M, including add-ons, on a four and a half year contract. Lukic was on the radar of several Serie A giants, including Milan, Roma and even Napoli, but has taken a bold step to start a new journey in the Premier League.

Negotiations for a contract renewal with the Granata management led nowhere following his re-introduction to the first team by coach Ivan Juric, who had left him out of the first game of the campaign against Monza due to the player pushing for a transfer.

“I’m very happy to have signed, and to now be a part of Fulham’s squad. I can’t wait to get started and meet with the head coach, the players, and the staff, and I’m looking forward to training with them when I arrive in England. I’ve seen Fulham play this season and they’ve been playing very well. They have a good squad, with a great history. A lot of great players have played for the Club in its history, and they have a lot of great players currently, like my compatriot Aleksandar Mitrović, said the Serbian to Fulham’s official channel after the transfer was confirmed.

26-year-old Lukic moves on deadline day to bring an end to his Torino chapter – amassing 14 goals and 6 assists in 168 appearances for the Granata across seven seasons.
