Galatasaray and Nice Challenging Roma in Belotti Fray

Roma can’t put Andrea Belotti under contract until they sell one of their back-ups, and Nice and Galatasaray are trying to take advantage of that. Both sides have opened talks and are trying to lure him.

The Turkish club’s coach Okan Buruk confirmed their interest in a presser (via Alfredo Pedullà).

“He’s one of our targets, but it’s not easy because he would like to stay in Italy. That’s why we made little progress.”

According to Tuttomercatoweb, the Cimbom tendered the richest offer, a four-year contract with €6M wages and a signing bonus. But the center-forward isn’t too keen on the destination, while the Ligue 1 team has better chances.

As per Corriere dello Sport, Belotti has Roma as his top option, but he doesn’t want to wait too long, so Galatasaray and especially Nice are firmly in the running. The Giallorossi need to part ways with Eldor Shomurodov or Felix Afena-Gyan first. They insist on the former leaving on loan with obligation to buy and not just an option.

José Mourinho openly stated that he wanted another weapon after the narrow win over Salernitana.

“I liked everything, but I wished we scored more. We ran out of energies up front and we could just manage the game late. I would like replace the forwards with somebody at their same level, like Manchester City, Liverpool or some Italian teams do.”

Our Take on Galatasary and Nice Rivaling Roma for Belotti

Another physical veteran wouldn’t hurt, but Paulo Dybala and Nicolò Zaniolo, who is basically turning into a full-fledged striker, already give them options and flexibility. One of them will likely come off the bench in more challenging match-ups and once Georginio Wijnaldum is fully fit.
