Galatasaray Offer New Escape Route to Napoli Wantaway

Galatasaray materialized for Victor Osimhen after deadline day, and the negotiation between all parties progressed quickly. There’s an agreement in principle for a straight loan with no strings attached, Gianluca Di Marzio informs.

The window is open for ten more days in Turkey, so there’s time to negotiate. But things moved fast, and the deal is in its later stages already. The medicals and the signature should arrive quickly.

There was still a chance for Osimhen to transfer to Saudi Arabia on Monday, but no other team targeted him after Ah-Ahli, which acquired Ivan Toney from Brentford instead, and Galatasaray took advantage of the situation.

The player refused to transfer to Chelsea on loan during the summer, although there were some problems with his wages in that case. He evidently changed his mind since there’re no other options. The Turkish team will cover his €11M salary. The Partenopei excluded him from their seasonal list, although it’s possible to make two changes. But Antonio Conte was very stern about a reconciliation.

His move to Saudi Arabia collapsed for about €5M, as Al-Ahli tendered €60M after significantly raising their offer to the player, Corriere dello Sport informs. Liverpool also made a late attempt.

That’s quite the twist. It’s not as good as an outright sale, but at least it’ll spare them the headache this season, and it’s a lot better for him than to be frozen out for a few months. Still, to salvage the situation financially after their big investments, they’d have to sell him in January or by June 30^th.
