Galeone Reveals What Allegri Wishes Concerning Juventus

The buzz about Juventus contemplating a summer coaching change has resurfaced due to their ongoing skid, and Giovanni Galeone, the mentor and a close friend of Massimiliano Allegri, said his piece on the matter to La Gazzetta dello Sport.

“I think Max wants to stay. He has another year on his contract and is happy with the youngsters he’s managing and grooming. If they qualify for the Champions League, and they will, it’s fair for him to continue in Turin. The club has recognized his value during trying times.”

Galeone was quizzed about the relationship between Allegri and Juventus exec Cristiano Giuntoli.

“Honestly, he and I usually converse about players and teams in general and not about directors. I’ve never asked him about Giuntoli, neither did I with Fabio Paratici and Pavel Nedved in the past.”

The veteran gaffer weighed in on the title race.

“I don’t believe Juventus could win the Scudetto, and nor does Max. But that has been the case since the beginning. Not coincidentally, he always indicated the Champions League as their goal and Inter as the favorites. If Simone Inzaghi keeps using his starters, they are no match for anybody in Italy. The head-to-head clash made the Bianconeri realize that the gap is still too wide.”

Galeone suggested some purchases to Allegri and Juventus.

“He needs at least three reinforcements: an important defender, a quality midfielder, and an attacker should Federico Chiesa leave. My top target would be Chelsea’s Nodi Madueke right now.”
