Gasperini Slams ‘Rude’ Commisso, Praises De Ketelaere

Gian Piero Gasperini was pleased with what he saw from his side in Thursday’s 2-0 win over Rakow but also attacked Fiorentina president Rocco Commisso, who didn’t like his remarks following the recent game between Atalanta and Fiorentina (via Tuttomercatoweb).

“He’s rude and shows it every time he opens his mouth. It’s like taking the lid off a manhole. He does it with everybody. I don’t even want to answer him. I never offended anybody and always simply backed my team.”

Commisso vulgarly told Gasperini off while talking to some fans after the gaffer complained about the insults he received from the stands during the previous clash.

The Atalanta manager lauded Charles De Ketelaere, who hit the net again.

“He already headed it home against Sassuolo. He has size and timing and can play near the goal. They said he had a weak personality, but that’s not the case. He has a particular physique and reminds me of Josip Ilicic. They both need to be in good form to show well. He’s young and has room for improvement athletically. He can be decisive.”

Gasperini fielded a pure trident for the first time in the season.

“There were the conditions to use today. It was the right choice. I don’t know whether it’ll be possible again. The squad worked well to support it and help the attackers be dangerous. We managed in spurts.”
