With Atalanta set to clash against Udinese within match-week nine of the Serie A tomorrow afternoon, Gasperini spoke to the media in a press conference in order to preview the highly anticipated fixture.
So far this season, La Dea have managed to be very consistent as they currently sit joint-first alongside Napoli with a total of 20 points. Gasperini’s side have managed to maintain a solid back-bone within the defence as they remain undefeated and have only conceded three goals in eight games, making them the best defensive side within the league.
However, the black and blue of Bergamo find themselves against a tricky Udinese side as Le Zebrette currently find themselves within in third, only trailing Atalanta by one point after having won six consecutive fixtures against the likes of Inter, Roma, and Fiorentina.
Ahead of kickoff at the Dacia Arena, Gasperini spoke about Udinese’s formidable form within the attacking phase of the game:
“Udinese are going through a very enthusiastic period, just as we are. We come to Udine highly motivated and winning tomorrow would be a big confidence-booster for us.
“We are up against a strong side, with both physicality and technique. They are only one point behind us, but are given more consideration in the media. They’ve earned it on the field, the way they beat sides like Inter and Roma.
“Atalanta are top of the table, so it’s difficult to improve on the results, but we need to improve the performances and our self-confidence.”
