Gian Piero Gasperini criticized how the transfer market is structured following their first pre-season friendly, acknowledging the uncertainty surrounding the future of Rasmus Hojlund and other players (via Ansa).
“It’s impossible to make plans with these dates. Everybody is talking a buying time because there’s a month and a half left. However, Serie A will begin sooner. It’s all chatter. It’s a system we have to adapt to.”
Gasperini was quizzed about Hojlund.
“Even if we wanted to set a deadline, let’s say August 15th, the window wouldn’t be over. If a crazy offer arrives, it’s up to the club and the player to decide. I would indicate July 31st, but we can’t realistically do it. It was the same with him last summer. It’s all up in the air.”
According to Fabrizio Romano, Manchester United are very interested in the Dane but haven’t lodged an official offer for now as they were more preoccupied with other matters. Atalanta demand €70M and no makeweights in the package at this stage.
The Red Devils are eyeing Fiorentina star Sofyan Amrabat, but he’s not a priority. After sealing the André Onana deal, they will focus on signing a new striker.
