Genoa Executive Discusses Future of Two Inter Targets

Genoa CEO André Blazquez touched on two Inter targets in a wide-ranging interview about the transfer market plans of his side. He was quizzed whether Josep Martinez would transfer for €15M by TeleNord (via Fantacalcio).

“There are many things you don’t know. Our parameters are clear, then some agents work for their own interests. I think he’s worth a lot more. Dominik Kotarski? He’s a great goalie, but we’re examining many options. We aren’t the only ones after him. Morten Frendrup won’t be sold. He’s a key player for us. He’s an essential pillar and will stay.”

Inter could eventually pursue Albert Gudmundsson once they trim their attack.

“We are not a prison, and we understand that the players have a short career. If somebody like Radu Dragusin wants to go abroad to get paid more, I can’t stop him. Those who come here know they will be comfortable and that we won’t clip their wings.”

“It’s normal for him to be ambitious. He rejected Fiorentina in January not due to the destination, but because I told him we needed him to finish in the top ten, and we almost succeeded. I also have to fulfill people’s desires. There’s some interest from Saudi Arabia, Italy, and foreign sides, but no concrete bids yet. Many inquired, but the market has yet to really start.”

Blazquez discussed the Vitinha deal.

“We invested a lot in him because we believe he’s an important player. Olympique Marseille will have a €27.5M buy-back clause. We haven’t been able to sell anybody yet, but we want to make sure to a have strong squad, even better than last year’s one.”
