Genoa won’t obstruct the departure of Albert Gudmundsson in the summer but will want to be compensated profusely for letting go of their ace. Their president Alberto Zangrillo took stock to Radio Sportiva.
“He’s a very serious guy. It would be pointless to deny that he wants to cultivate ambitions that we can’t guarantee at the moment. He’s drawing interest from Italy and abroad. It’s fair for both parties to make their evaluations. The result is what matters in the end.”
Gudmundsson has been routinely linked to Inter, but Zangrillo sidestepped the question.
“I don’t deal with that stuff. We should let the player dream while maintaining our ability to operate correctly on the transfer market. We have learned to love our lads. You can put together good deals and believe that, maybe in a few years, Albert would say that he couldn’t have got there without Genoa.”
According to Tuttomercatoweb, the Grifone want €40M for Gudmundsson. In addition to Inter, he has also been linked to Juventus. In his latest remarks, he suggested that he’d rather transfer to the Premier League if possible, as reported. It was his preferred championship growing up.
