Giroud: “Me and Theo are Proud to Represent Milan in the Final”

France stormed past Morocco with a 2-0 victory in the semi-finals of the 2022 World Cup, setting up a mouthwatering clash against Lionel Messi’s Argentina in the final. Milan duo Olivier Giroud and Theo Hernandez have both played a pivotal role in the success of Les Bleus throughout the tournament, and the former hopes to add a second World Cup in his list of achievements.

Giroud shared his thoughts to the microphones of Sportitalia after the win against Morocco, saying he and Theo are both proud representing Milan in the final.

“I’m very happy for Theo, he scored a great goal and I’m very happy for him. We are both proud to represent Milan in the final and we hope to win the second World Cup. Was it Pioli on fire at the end of the game? Always!”

France will aim to become only the second team in history to win two FIFA World Cups in a row, after Brazil in 1962. Whereas, Argentina seek to end their 36-year drought, having last won the golden trophy in 1986 led by Diego Maradona.
