Giroud Warns Milan of Mbappé Threat Ahead of PSG Showdown

Milan travel to Paris seeking a first win this UEFA Champions League campaign after consecutive stalemates against Borussia Dortmund and Newcastle United. Rossoneri striker Olivier Giroud believes it will be a special match for French players, with the likes of Mike Maignan, Pierre Kalulu, and Theo Hernandez in the team.

Speaking to Canal+, Giroud backed the Rossoneri to bounce back following the defeat to arch-rivals Juventus in Serie A.

“It will be a special match for us French players at Milan. We return to Paris, aware of the expectations surrounding PSG in this Champions League. They have a very solid team, with many internationals, particularly French. It will be a good challenge, a good match. We want to play a great game and show that Milan can return to being a competitive team on the European scene.”

Giroud warned his Milan teammates of the firepower PSG possess, with French compatriot Kylian Mbappe leading the line.

“Our philosophy is to defend by moving forward. We do it at home. On the road, I don’t know if the coach will want us to wait a little longer, but we are well aware of their attacking strengths. Their attackers are truly talented. We will have to be careful with everyone, but obviously Kylian in particular. I think we will defend more against him, that’s for sure.”

Milan have an impressive record against French clubs in the UCL, losing just three of their 16 European encounters (W8, D5). The Rossoneri are unbeaten against PSG in four competitive outings, winning two of them.
