Giuntoli Dishes on Vlahovic, Lukaku, Bonucci, and Pogba

Cristiano Giuntoli addressed the main rumors involving Juventus in his introductory presser, starting with a special thanks to his former employee Aurelio De Laurentiis and the Napoli fans (via SportMediaset).

“They gave me a great opportunity eight years ago. I’m very happy because I’ve received an extraordinary welcome from everybody. I’ve found great quality in all sectors. We aim to be competitive and financially sustainable because that’s how the world works.”

The director was quizzed about the outcasts.

“We have never stated that Weston McKennie was out of technical plans. We are negotiating with two clubs for Denis Zakaria and Arthur. Leonardo Bonucci hasn’t found anything he likes so far.”

Giuntoli played coy on Romelu Lukaku.

“We are inquiring about several players and are in touch with multiple clubs. We count on Dusan Vlahovic, Federico Chiesa, Arkadiusz Milik, and Moise Kean. Our attack is very good already. I don’t want to make proclamations because the transfer market has just started. But we don’t need to buy anybody. Rather, we are working on the sales.”

The exec was asked about the Serb specifically.

“We have to repair our finances a little. Maybe if we’ll get an offer we can’t refuse… But we lean on him a lot.”

Giuntoli commented on Paul Pogba.

“The situation seems pretty clear. He’s eager to return and we are waiting for him. He’s key to us since he has quality and experience.”
