Cristiano Giuntoli confirmed that Juventus weren’t close to completing any purchase at this stage and stated that they might not do anything transfer market-wise talking to SportMediaset before the Bianconeri romped Salernitana in the Coppa Italia. He was asked about Dusan Vlahovic’s links to Arsenal.
“We don’t know anything about them, but he’s not for sale, so we don’t care a lot about it.”
The exec had the same answer concerning Filippo Terracciano and Felipe Anderson.
“At this stage, there are no right opportunities from the economical and technical standpoints, so we stay as is.”
Giuntoli replied to whether Adrien Rabiot would re-up with Juventus.
“We pursue a strong bond with our players and their entourages, and that’s the case for him too. We’re very confident. Let’s see. We’ll talk about it at the end as it happened last year. We’re very happy to be together.”
The exec downplayed the necessity to add a midfielder.
“I wouldn’t say we have numerical need because those missing have been out for a few months. We have a lot of guys who are capable but haven’t found much room and already proved their quality like Hans Nicolussi Caviglia, Samuel Iling, and Fabio Miretti. The squad is worthy, and the coach is happy. He’s doing extraordinary things with the lads and his staff. We’ll keep at it keeping our heads down.”
Giuntoli was quizzed directly about Kalvin Phillips and Pierre-Emilie Hojbjerg potentially joining Juventus, but he had the same response as for Terracciano and Felipe Anderson.
