Gonzalez Set to Become Highest Earning Fiorentina Player

It is no secret that Fiorentina winger Nicolas Gonzalez has grown into one of the club’s most important players, as he dodged foreign offers in the summer transfer window to stay in Firenze. The Viola are set to reward him with a pay hike and an extended stay.

As per La Nazione (via Calciomercato), backed by Vincenzo Italiano, the Fiorentina management is ready to extend Gonzalez’s stay by a further year. His current contract expires in the summer of 2026 and an extension until 2027, with the option to renew until 2028 tabled for the Italian-Argentine forward.

Gonzalez is a central part of the Fiorentina project and presently earns €2.5M net per season. However, he is set to exceed Arthur and Nikola Milenkovic’s status as the club’s highest-earning member with the renewal.

The Argentinos Juniors youth product joined Fiorentina in 2021 from VfB Stuttgart. He has 26 goals in 86 appearances for the Viola so far, with 4 goals already in 5 appearances this season.

Our Take on Fiorentina and Gonzalez

Gonzalez, who was targeted by several English sides such as Leicester City and Brentford, has proved to be a vital part of Vincenzo Italiano’s plans and continues to make the difference. His stay is only going to strengthen the club further.
