Robin Gosens is confident Inter will win the title, mainly thanks to the slump-busting victory versus Juventus: “Before that game, we telling each other that we would be champions if we prevailed that night. And it will happen; I am absolutely sure of it.”
The defender talked to DAZN about his time at Atalanta: “We were dominating PSG in the Champions League semi-finals. We were playing every three days in hot temperatures to make up the matches. We slowly started to run out of energy. Unfortunately, even though we resisted for 90 minutes, our dream ended.”
Gosens heaped praise on Gian Piero Gasperini: “I will be forever grateful win him. He has a system where the wing-backs attack a lot, and I had the liberty of cutting in the box. He is a genius at putting together teams. I have learned a lot from him. We have not necessarily had the best relationship, especially in the early going. In the end, though, he told me that joining Inter would be the right move for me.”
“I could have stayed in Bergamo, where I would have played all the time. But it was a unique opportunity. I have to compete with Ivan Perisic now, who is having an excellent season and has already won everything. But I am sure this situation will wind up helping me. I became a regular for Germany at Atalanta, plus it led to the transfer to one of the best teams in the world despite a major injury. It is incredible. It is really fun here, and there is an incredible desire to win.”
Gosens could have gotten his first start in the midweek game versus Bologna, but he will miss it due to muscle fatigue, La Gazzetta dello Sport informs.
