Hellas Verona Coach Tudor Praises Title Contenders After Milan Defeat

Milan came from a goal down to upset Hellas Verona with a 3-1 scoreline, thanks to birthday boy Sandro Tonali’s brace before Alessandro Florenzi sealed the evening with a thumping finish from the right flank. Gialloblu coach Igor Tudo didn’t hold back from praising his adversaries, congratulating them for a win that gets them closer to a first Scudetto title in over a decade.

Speaking to the press in his post-match conference (via MilanNews), Tudor shared his thoughts on the loss at Stadio Marc’Antonio Bentegodi.

“We had a good match. Unfortunately, Milan were strong today, and in the end they deservedly won. We were in the game, we tried until the end, but we didn’t succeed. To do something against the big teams you have to find them in a moment when they’re not particularly fit, and instead tonight they were fine,” he commented.

He was asked if Milan’s experience made a difference in the match. Responding to which, he remained grounded.

Tudor said: “Managing situations is part of the quality of the players, and Milan have fantastic players. We have given everything; we have nothing to reproach ourselves with. We must congratulate Milan and move on.”

Finally, the Croat shed light on which team he thinks will grab the title.

When quizzed about it, he said: “It’s a shame they both can’t win, they have been above the others for the whole year. Milan have fate in their hands, but there are still two games to play.”

The Rossoneri are in pole position to win the league title as they remain two points ahead of Inter with two games left to play. They only need four points off those two clashes to win the championship.
