Fresh from his impressive one-season stint at Udinese following a roller coaster ride that saw the team escape relegation to the second-tier, Gabriele Cioffi will head the dugout at Hellas Verona from the next campaign onwards. Udinese and the gaffer did not come to terms on an extension, and the Scaligeri jumped in line to hire him as a replacement for Igor Tudor.

Cioffi has signed a two-year contract with Verona. The Gialloblù ended 2021/22 on a low note as they slipped to the ninth position after a run of just three victories from 10 matches towards the homestretch of the campaign.
The Tuscan tactician will be entrusted with his first permanent role as gaffer of a Serie A team, having led Udinese for just 24 games in the latter half of the previous season. Before his adventure with the Friulani began, Cioffi managed EFL League Two club Crawley Town, where he pulled the side out of relegation ad into safety and also made history by beating Premier League opponents in the FA Cup for the first time in the club’s history.
Moreover, Verona have finalized another significant addition. They signed highly-rated striker Giovanni Simeone on a permanent transfer from Cagliari after he shined last season – bagging 17 goals in 35 appearances. He is being targeted heavily by other Italian clubs, including Napoli, Lazio and Juventus. The Scaligeri might decide to sell him to make an instant profit, Tuttomercatoweb informs.
