Hungary Coach Marco Rossi Resurfaces Szoboszlai Links with Milan

Hungary coach Marco Rossi believes RB Leipzig ace Dominik Szoboszlai would be ready to pounce on a move to Milan if the opportunity does arise again. The Rossoneri have been linked to the Hungarian on a number of occasions before but no concrete links ever materialized between the two parties.

Rossi spoke to MilanNews in an exclusive talk and had his say on Szoboszlai’s future.

“Dominik has improved a lot in many aspects over the past year and I think he is close to becoming a top player. I believe that the decision I made to give him the captain’s armband in the national team can speed up his maturation process to make him a truly top player. But he must become more man, less boy and certainly this great responsibility will help him in a very short time. He is a player who has very interesting numbers: as far as assists are concerned, he is in the very first places in the company of absolute top players. In my opinion, despite to the potential and ballistic skills he has, he doesn’t score often. He has to score more goals.”

The ex-Brescia defender was then quizzed if he can expect the young playmaker’s future to lie in Milan.

“In my opinion, he is ready for any team. Dominik can go to any top club today. Then of course you go there, you train with top players, sometimes you play sometimes you don’t play, but you grow up. He is only 22 years old and if he completes his maturation, within 2-3 years we may have a player in the national team for another 7-8 years who can make a difference in every game.”

22-year-old Szoboszlai has starred regularly for the Die Roten since last season after moving from RB Salzburg, going on to score 12 goals in 67 caps for the east German club so far.
