The Milan veteran was less complimentary towards Pep Guardiola. He was quizzed about whether the Norwegian star could improve under the tutelage of the Catalan coach.
“It depends on Pep’s ego and whether he will allow Haaland to become bigger than him or not. He didn’t let it happen with me and other players.”
Ibrahimovic also didn’t mince words towards Mbappé, who ultimately didn’t depart last season.
“By staying in Paris, he didn’t make the right choice for himself, but for the club. He put himself in a position to be more important than his team, which permitted it. He has to realize that you can never be bigger than your side. I don’t know him personally, but he’s a fantastic player. However, if you don’t have self-discipline, then you lose your identity.
