Immobile Hailed as the Best Italian Striker of Last 20 Years

Italian agent Alessandro Moggi believes his client, Ciro Immobile, is the most important Italian striker of the past 20 years. The Azzurri striker has become Lazio’s all-time goalscorer in the space of just six years since joining on a permanent deal from Sevilla in July 2016.

Speaking to Radio Marte (via LazioNews24) in an exclusive interview, Moggi revealed his admiration for the 32-year-old veteran, who currently holds the Capocannoniere title after scoring 27 goals for the Biancocelesti in the 2021/22 season.

“He must beat all records and become a legend. What Ciro is building shows that he is the most important Italian striker of the last 20 years. He is also recognized on the international level. He aims to win the top scorer for the fifth time.”

The Lazio star is one Capocannoniere accolade away from matching Milan legend Gunnar Nordahl’s record, previously having won in 2013/14, 2017/18, 2019/20 and 2021/22. Moggi went on to praise Immobile also for his role off the pitch.

“In addition to being a great striker, he is also a great man. You will see that this year he will be there fighting to win the top scorer title once again.”

He has 182 goals in 259 caps for the Biancocelesti.
