Immobile on Lazio Objective and Napoli Scudetto Chances

Ciro Immobile believes Lazio are going in the right direction despite their 3-0 defeat at Juventus in the last match before the World Cup break. The Biancocelesti have enjoyed decent progression this season as they sit in fourth place, level on points with Inter.

Speaking to the microphones of Sportpaper.it (via La Lazio Siamo Noi) during the ‘Partita della Pace’ event at Stadio Olimpico, Immobile highlighted the importance of continuing what they started this term.

“We are facing a good moment, the teammates are giving everything and are doing very well. We must continue in this direction and follow Mr. Sarri. I believe in the Champions League, fourth place is our goal.

He then took stock of Napoli’s chances lifting the Scudetto title.

Napoli? Did they take a good advantage, even if anything can happen after the break. But they have a good advantage over their rivals. The Scudetto is possible, they have to believe in it.”

The Partenopei are eyeing a first league title since the days of Diego Maradona, as they sit atop the summit with 41 points from 15 games, 11 points ahead of Lazio.

Immobile has suffered setbacks this season since his hamstring injury last month against Udinese. He will aim to make his way back into the starting eleven when Lazio visit Lecce on January 4.
