Injured Milan Star Unlikely to Beat Standard Timetable

Milan will recover some players during the break, but not their most important one, Rafael Leao. The winger is nursing a first-grade biceps femoris strain in his right thigh. He suffered it at the start of the most recent game versus Lecce.

Per SportMediaset, the Rossoneri didn’t have much hope he’d heal in two weeks. However, they are growing pessimistic about his availability against Borussia Dortmund on November 28th, and perhaps further. He will not be rushed back. They’ll face Fiorentina, Frosinone, and Atalanta in their next domestic fixtures. They’ll wrap up the Champions League’s group stage against Newcastle United on December 13th.

Milan will have to do without Leao and Olivier Giroud against the Viola. The Frenchman will also miss the meeting with the Ciociari because of a two-game suspension for insulting the referee.

While the Rossoneri will be without two stars on Saturday, they’ll welcome back Christian Pulisic and Ruben Loftus-Cheek. Davide Calabria is also poised to be available after sustaining a minor thigh injury versus Lecce, Tuttomercatoweb relays.

The USMNT star sat out that tilt because of a contracture. The midfielder was technically available but didn’t play. He hadn’t recovered fully from a previous groin injury after pushing through it to play against PSG a few days earlier.

Unlike Leao, the trio is expected to practice fully right from the start of the week, as Milan will commence preparing on Tuesday, while the international players will trickle back in.
