Inter Accept Bid from Sassuolo for Andrea Pinamonti

Sassuolo are reportedly on the verge of signing out-of-favour Inter striker Andrea Pinamonti to replace departed striker Gianluca Scamacca. According to FCInterNews, the Neroverdi have agreed to pay last season’s Serie A runners-up between €18-20m to take the Italian to Emilia-Romagna.

Sassuolo have earned nearly €40m from Scamacca’s move to West Ham United. Instead of trying to replace their golden boy with another youth academy prospect, Alessio Dionisi’s men want a proven solution. Pinamonti seems to be their pick, with Inter already accepting their bid.

But Sassuolo will now have to convince the player. After a decent season-long loan at Empoli in 2021/22, Pinamonti has attracted interest from Atalanta. With Luis Muriel’s future in Bergamo up in the air, Gian Piero Gasperini has identified the 23-year-old as a perfect candidate to fill a potential vacancy.

Yet, Atalanta’s bid to take Pinamonti away from Giuseppe Meazza is no match to the one presented by Sassuolo. Therefore, the Gewiss Stadium seems to be an unlikely destination for the former Genoa frontman. There’s still a window of opportunity for La Dea to seize.

Sassuolo are currently in talks with Napoli over Giacomo Raspadori’s potential switch to the Stadio Diego Armando Maradona. And they have no intention of accelerating negotiations for Pinamonti before working things out with the Partenopei over another Mapei jewel.

That could give Atalanta a perfect chance to make a last-ditch attempt to lure Pinamonti to Bergamo. Regardless of Sassuolo’s stance on the talented striker, La Dea will have to at least match their offer to get Inter to talk about the youngster’s outright departure.
