Inter and Atalanta Nearing Agreement in Robin Gosens Deal

Inter and Atalanta are in advanced talks in the deal that would see Robin Gosens transfer to Milan. The Nerazzurri stepped up their interest once La Dea provided an opening. The fullback was discussing a move to Newcastle. However, the Scudetto winners quickly leapfrogged them.

According to La Gazzetta dello Sport, the two sides have an agreement in principle on a €30M package. The formula will be a loan with a very feasible conditioned obligation to buy. Inter will spend at least €22M for Gosens, Alfredo Pedullà reports.

The start wing-back has been absent for months due to a major thigh injury and a relapse. He is not expected to return until the second half of February. However, the Nerazzurri elected to push forward anyway. Ivan Perisic will finish the season with them despite his expiring contract. They will have plenty of time to assess the recovery of the German international.

Inter have already come to terms with the agents of Gosens. He will earn €3M per season plus bonuses, Tuttomercatoweb reports. It is lower compared to what he would have potentially made at Newcastle. The gulf in the stature of the two teams played a major role in swaying him.

Atalanta are considering Lazio’s Manuel Lazzari to replace their ace. However, they might opt to stand pat after all. They have already adjusted to not having him on the roster. Giuseppe Pezzella has fared well in recent games and they have four wing-backs on the rosters even sans Gosens.
