Inter and Cagliari Set to Meet Again to Discuss Future of Two Midfielders

Inter and Cagliari have scheduled another summit to try coming to terms on a multi-player deal. The Sardinians are now in a rush to bring back Radja Nainggolan as they lost Marko Rog to another ACL tear. The Croatian midfielder had just returned for the same injury and will miss a good chunk, if not the entirety, of next season.

The two sides will meet Monday and aim to reach an agreement, but they need to negotiate a little more. They need to decide the formula and the partition of the payment of Nainggolan’s wages. The player is eager to return for a third time, and it is highly likely to happen, Sky Sport reports. The Belgian veteran is scheduled to start the pre-season preparation with Inter today.

Nahitan Nandez has delayed his return to Italy after Copa America a couple of times. He hopes to avoid heading back to Sardinia and land directly in Milan, according to Alfredo Pedullà. The Nerazzurri and Cagliari are a few million apart in the talks. Inter proposed a €2/3M fee for the initial loan and a €20M next summer, while the Rossoblù want €4/5M right away and a richer option to buy in 2022. Nainggolan will probably transfer first.

The Uruguayan international will earn €3M per season after completing the switch to Inter. Cagliari are also eyeing Andrea Pinamonti, but they need to sell Giovanni Simeone before moving concretely. Empoli and Venezia might get to the young striker before it happens.
