Relegation contenders Hellas Verona have a potential future star in their hands, as 19-year-old Diego Coppola continues to garner attention from top Serie A clubs, including Inter. Despite not being used regularly by Marco Zaffaroni, the Italy U21 international has impressed whenever given the chance.
As per FCInterNews, Inter and Juventus have scouted the Verona-born defender in Serie A this campaign, with Nerazzurri observers in particular in attendance at the Stadio Marc’Antonio Bentegodi during the 1-1 draw with Monza on March 12.
Probably heard of Diego Coppola late last season or ?? U19s but Verona have another CB stepping up. Dominant frame already at 18yo, may lack quickness but mentally aggressive decision making. 2 footed defensive techniques. Tough.https://t.co/RIQwLgCCSNhttps://t.co/dFh2mGMfoz pic.twitter.com/G6EJQlRbpl

The Gialloblu are currently in a drop zone tussle with Sampdoria and Cremonese below them, and much will depend on whether they can stay afloat in the top-flight, in order to leverage the stopper’s stay.
Coppola has endured a tough season at Verona, missing two months due to a leg injury, before being dropped by Zaffaroni throughout January. He recently made a comeback to the first team, and has registered just 13 appearances this season.
