Inter and Juventus to Resist Liverpool and Chelsea Offers for Italy Stars

Liverpool and Chelsea are ready to open up the wallet for Nicolò Barella, and the Blues are keen on Federico Chiesa as well. However, Inter and Juventus consider them untouchable. The Reds could offer up to €70M for the midfielder, La Repubblica reports.

The sum is considerable and alluring, but Inter do not want to part ways with other stars. Barella will report to the club in 20 days after the Euro victory. Nobody within the technical staff has taken into consideration his departure. They want to make him even more central in the new Simone Inzaghi course.

The midfielder is under contract until 2024. The management plans to open talks to extend it and touch up his salary. They see him as the next-in-line for the captaincy once Samir Handanovic will leave. Barella joined from Cagliari for a total of €44M two years ago. CEO Giuseppe Marotta stated yesterday: “90 percent of the roster will be confirmed, and we will try to complete it in the best possible way after the departure of Achraf Hakimi.”

Chelsea have long been after Barella, whom they tried to sign before he joined Inter, Corriere della Sera reports. Their chase is likely to be unsuccessful. That will be the case also for Chiesa. He made their short-list of offensive reinforcements if they could not get Erling Haaland. The Blues, like Bayern Munich, are willing to put €100M on the table for the winger, Bild informed. However, the bids will fell on deaf years because Juventus will hold onto him.
