Inter and Milan Bosses Confident About Staging Comeback

Despite the lead built by Napoli in the standings, Milan and Inter haven’t given up on the Scudetto. Their coaches voiced their belief in potential comebacks in snippets of a future interview with SportMediaset.

Simone Inzaghi praised the Azzurri but warned them as well.

“They have done something extraordinary so far, which amplified the errors of the others, starting with us. Teams were more bunched up at this point last season, the margins were narrow. The gap is wider now. Their going is unmatched across Europe, so kudos to them. We know that our haul is insufficient.”

The gaffer was quizzed about whether they could catch up with the Partenopei.

“We absolutely can, but we have to improve. This extra long pause is a new thing for us coaches. It’s a weird campaign.”

Milan boss Stefano Pioli was on the same wavelength as the Inter manager.

“We have to believe in the comeback in the same fashion we did for last season’s title, which seemed impossible at first.”

The gaffer assessed his personal growth.

“I’ve improved in many things and situations, especially in a pair I consider the most crucial in my line of work: different tactical solutions, the relationship with players and maybe a little the communicaiton with the outside.”

He looked back at the celebrations for the previous Scudetto.

“My son Gianmarco and I smoked a big cigar on the balcony while the Rossoneri fans were in the streets with the flags. I truly realized the magnitude of what we achieved in that moment.”

Inter and Napoli will square off in the first matchday after the break on January 4th, while Milan will take on Salernitana.
